This is a good book with powerful scripture references and inspiring examples from the life of a man who desired to serve God and do God's best will for his life. He saw miracles happen in answer to prayer and the course of World War 2 changed by way of his and others' prayers. This is an inspiring book to read and seek God through, but it does have some errors, as most Christian books do. So, we Christians need to be Bereans. I myself have been misled at times, so I offer this article with a desire to point out why God is a loving, caring, compassionate, patient, gracious, longsuffering Father.
Below are some links articles about statements made in this book (Rees Howells: Intercessor) that are erroneous. We Christians can get into error, including this writer, so seeking to know God personally, being Bereans (Acts 17:11), and meditating on God's Word (John 8:31-32, Psalm 1:2) are important.
This book has a lot of good, biblical truth in it, but some deception has crept in. When we Christians are being brought close to God, the devil will seek to mislead us in different areas of our lives where we are more open to the devil's deception. These are areas where we have not sought God on or where we have been weak in.

Psalm 145:8-9 says: "[8] The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. [9] The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
God's Word also says how God is a compassionate, loving Father who desires us to have close fellowship and communion with Him. See 1 Corinthians 1:9, 2 Corinthians 1:2-3, John 17:22-23, Jeremiah 31:3, Psalm 103:8 and 103:13, 1 John 1:9, Jeremiah 31:3, 1 John 1:6-7, Isaiah 46:3-4, Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 43, 1 John 1:3, Isaiah 49:10-16, Zephaniah 3:17, and so on.
_______________
Here are some articles pointing out some of the errors in this book, giving biblical reasons why they are errors, and showing what the truth from God's Word says. There are more errors in this book than these articles mention. So, I encourage you to be a Berean (Acts 17:10-11) and search the scriptures when you read Rees Howells: Intercessor.
- -- Spiritual Error on Page 18. Rees hears a voice that commands him to do something that is unbiblical and in a nature different from God's loving nature. Click on this link to see biblically why the voice that spoke to Rees was not always from God. We include a number of helpful scriptures. Read the note on this here.
- -- Page 8 contains a misunderstanding of Hebrews 12:1-2. Read the note on this here.
- -- Page 46 note: Rees wrongfully believed that the Holy Spirit is very strict. He heard a voice that gave him a threat. This voice contradicts God's Word. I believe Rees did mostly hear from God, but he sometimes heard things that contradict God's Word. Read the note on this here.
