The Prophecies of Balaam About Israel and How They Also Apply to the Church

(God has Balaam bless Israel. Click for source.)
The Prophecies of Balaam About Israel and How They Also Apply to the Church

The Bible is full of riches and great treasure. (See Proverbs 3:13-15 and all of Proverbs 3). It is unfathomable wealth set before us and all we have to do is look to God to guide us in understanding and receiving it. The Holy Bible is full of awesome truth which will set us free from the devil's lies. The books of Proverbs and Psalms speak of how rich and priceless God's Word and God's wisdom are. God wants us to depend on Him to understand what we should do, and where we should go, and what God's Word is telling us. The Holy Spirit works through the Holy Bible to reveal awesome truths to us, if we want Him to.

In the book of Numbers, chapters 23 and 24, we read how a prophet called Balaam was told to prophecy destruction and call curses down on Israel, but he sought what God would have him say, and Balaam's words were inspired by the Spirit of God. They speak of how God will bless those who trust in Him, and how God will bless the nation of Israel. We Christians are en-grafted into the blessings of Israel by the blood of Jesus (Romans 11). So, these promises also apply to us, as they do to the nation of Israel. We Christians can personalize these promises for us and even speak of them out loud. Of course, sin that we refuse to forsake will keep these promises from being fulfilled, until we repent of the sin.

Let's now look at Numbers chapter 23, verses 4 through 10.

6. And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.

Numbers Chapter 2: the Meanings of the Names and the Reasons Why They Are on the Four Compass Directions

Numbers chapter 2 (verses 1-31) speaks of the names of leaders of the 12 tribes of Israel and where the tribes were situated related to the tabernacle.  There is significance to the name meanings and to the positions of these 12 tribes about the tabernacle in the wilderness.

The scripture below gives some context to the following information.

Numbers 2:1-2
(Jabal al-Lawz. Mt. Sinai. Click for source.)

"[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, [2] Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch."

Numbers 2:3
"[3] And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab [shall be] captain of the children of Judah."

THREE TRIBES ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE TABERNACLE

From Numbers 2:1-9...

On the east side of the tabernacle are the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun. There are three names in verse 3 relating to just the tribe of Judah: Judah, Nahshon, and Amminadab. Their name meanings combine to form this statement: "He praises God. He learns by experience. He freely offers himself." (Click here to read: The Hebrew Name Meanings from Numbers Ch. 1.  (PART 1) This will give understanding about the name meanings.)

Expounding the Deeper Meaning of the Names in Exodus Chapter 31, Verses 1 and 6 (Judah, Bezaleel, Uri, and Hur)

(Print Document in a PDF Format)

Exodus 31:1-3

"[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [2] See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: [3] And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,"

The names Bezaleel, Uri, Hur, and Judah are full of deep meanings which Hebrew concordances and God's Spirit can reveal to us believers. There is a reason why the Holy Scriptures are God-breathed or inspired by God. They are full of rich meanings and truths. Some of these truths are deeper than the surface level and are discovered by God's Spirit and also with the help of Hebrew or Greek concordances. (Note: Concordances offer many definitions to a word. I recommend seeking God about which definition specifically applies to the Hebrew or Greek word you are viewing in the context of the sentence it appears in.)

Let's look at these names and find out the meaning of each name in Exodus 31:1-2. The meanings I have written down come from seeking God in prayer about each name. What He has shown me is based on the Hebrew derivation of each name. I recommend you seek God about these meanings I've given, if you want to know more about them.

Name: Bezaleel is Betsalel (bets-al-ale') in Hebrew.

Expounding 2 Timothy 3:8-9 — False Teachers Exposed

Expounding 2 Timothy 3:8-9 — False Teachers Exposed [Print Document]

2 Timothy 3:8-9
“[8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. [9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.”

In this article we are going to expound and discuss 2 Timothy 3:8-9. We will look at how the sorcerers of Egypt, who withstood Moses, are no different than false teachers who resist the truth. We shall see how God will have to deal with them and with those who follow them.

Jannes and Jambres

Let’s start with Jannes and Jambres, two of the sorcerers in Pharaoh’s court. (Note: The Old Testament doesn’t mention them by name, but the Jews knew who they were.)
