Why Do the Four Gospel Accounts Have Different Details About the Events Following Jesus Christ’s Resurrection?

Why Do the Four Gospel Accounts Have Different Details About the Events Following Jesus Christ’s Resurrection?

It may seem confusing when you read the four different Gospel accounts of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But, this article (with God’s help) hopefully should clear up that confusion. The events mentioned in the four Gospel accounts about Christ’s resurrection are not contradictory whatsoever because each writer had his own memory and perspective about the events. And, each picked up on details that other writers may have missed.

This article aims to present what happened chronologically from the time Mary Magdalene and her lady friends first reached the tomb of Jesus (after His resurrection) and up to the time Jesus Christ’s eleven disciples had been informed of the miraculous resurrection of the Lord Jesus. (Note: Judas Iscariot had killed himself at this time.) In the paragraphs below, we will give the account of what happened (with the help of God, for only He could discern fully how this happened).

(1.) Mary Magdalene and some other women (a woman named Salome and Mary the mother of James) came to the tomb of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week, early in the morning. (2.) They found the tomb empty of the body of Jesus. But, they saw two angelic beings. One angel did most of the talking.

Abba God's Love for Us (in Hebrew Words) 馃寧 Chabab (Cherishing, Affectionate, Embracing Love)

⇛ Chabab (khaw-bab') in Deuteronomy 33:3

Deuteronomy 33:3 -- "Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words."

[Note: The bold, underlined words refer to God Himself. In this verse, the word "thy" refers to Jesus Christ (who is God the Son) before He was born, as a baby, in Bethlehem. It was Jesus Christ, in His glory, who Moses saw (but not His face) on Mt. Sinai. Jesus appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18 and as the "angel of the LORD" or "captain of the LORD'S host" to other people, including Joshua in Joshua 5. The "angel of the LORD" appeared to Samson's parents in Judges 13. The Hebrew word for angel is malak (Strong's #4397). Malak refers to a "messenger," "king," "angel," or an "ambassador." The word "angel" is just another way of saying "messenger" or "ambassador." Jesus Christ is the "messenger of the covenant" in Malachi 3:1.]

The word for loved in Deuteronomy 33:3 is chabab (Strong's #2245) in Hebrew. Strong's Exhaustive Concordance defines chabab as: "A primitive root (compare chaba', chabah); properly, to hide (as in the bosom), i.e. To cherish (with affection) -- love."

Webster's 1828 dictionary defines bosom as: "... 1. The breast ... 2. The folds or covering of clothes about the breast. ... 3. Embrace, as with arms ; inclosure [sic] ; compass ; often implying friendship or affection ; ..." (Webster)

Abba God's Love for Us (in Greek and Hebrew Words) 馃實 Phile贸 and Koin贸nia and Natsar. /// The Deeper Meaning of Preserve in Psalm 31:23-24 and in Psalm 32:6-7.

(The prodigal son is embraced by his father. See Luke 15.

Some of the words Abba God uses in the New Testament to show His love for us include Phile贸 and Koin贸nia and Natsar.
⬛ Phile贸 in John 16:27

John 16:27 -- “[27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.”

According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, the word loveth in English is phile贸 in Greek (Strong’s #5368). It means “1. … to love i.e. delight in, long for, … 2. to kiss…”

According to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, phile贸 means “... i.e. Have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling;...); specially, to kiss (as a mark of tenderness) -- kiss, love."
