HOW TO HAVE FULLNESS OF JOY AND HAPPINESS IN JESUS

HOW TO HAVE FULLNESS OF JOY AND HAPPINESS IN JESUS

{A Revelation of Who Jesus Is (He Only is Eternal Life and Joy)}

{Click here to see the printable PDF file.}

This article will show how Jesus Christ is God the Son, and He is Life and Joy. Having fullness of joy is having one’s focus and love on Jesus and not on idols. Getting rid of idols and walking in intimate fellowship with God is by following the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:4) and seeking to have a deep, intimate relationship with Abba Father God (Romans 8:15 and 1 John 1) and Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son. Single-mindedness toward Jesus casts out darkness and brings in light (Matthew 6:22).

None of this is performing for God’s love and blessings (Romans 4). It is simply resting, and seeking and desiring to know God intimately, and following the Holy Spirit. All of God’s blessings, friendship with God, and promises are freely given to us believers (Romans 8:32). Meditating on who God is and thirsting after God brings satisfaction and joy, as Psalm 63 says.

We will give bullet points with Bible verses, below. Part 2 in this article speaks of how to walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit and not perform or do works to try to earn things. All we need in God is freely given to us believers. Following the Holy Spirit mortifies (puts to death) the flesh, and blesses us, and furthers God’s Kingdom on earth.

  •    (1.) Jesus Completely Satisfies us in Himself. Jesus Lives in us Believers.

JOHN 6:35 -- “[35] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life : he that cometh
to me shall never hunger ; and he that believeth on me shall never
Thirst.”

Jesus lives in and abides with us (believers), and the Father is in Him (John 17:23). The Father God loves us (the human race) as much as He loves Jesus, who He dearly loves (John 17:23). That is why Abba Father God and Jesus (God the Son) both agreed to have Jesus die, in a man’s body, on a cross and rise from the dead on the third day.

JOHN 17:22-23
“[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them ; that they
may be one, even as we are one :
[23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one ;
and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast
loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

  •  (2.) Jesus is Life and He is Eternal Life. He is God and He is Life.

Jesus is our Life and Source of Joy. There is no true life or joy apart from Him.

JOHN 11:25-26 -- “[25] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life : he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live : [26] and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this ?”

Jesus is the Word of Life. Jesus is that eternal life. Our fellowship is with Jesus and the Father God. This is how we have joy that is full in just looking to Jesus alone.

1 JOHN 1:1-4
“[1] That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which
we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our
hands have handled, of the Word of life ;
[2] (for the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness,
and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father,
and was manifested unto us ;)
[3] that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye
also may have fellowship with us : and truly our fellowship is with
the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
[4] And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”

Psalms 16:11 says, in part: “… in thy presence is fulness of joy ; …”

  •   (3) Be single-minded in looking only to Jesus who is Fullness of Joy and Life.

MATTHEW 6:19-24
“[19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal :
[20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth
nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor
steal :
[21] for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

[22] The light of the body is the eye : if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.

[23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that
darkness !

[24] No man can serve two masters : for either he will hate the one,
and love the other ; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the
other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

(Part 2)

  •  (4.1.) Follow the Holy Spirit in rejecting idols and in walking with Abba Father God.

Be led by the Holy Spirit, and you will walk in righteousness and in intimate fellowship with God.

(NOTE: Righteousness is of Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ {2 Corinthians 5:21 and 1 Corinthians 1:30-31}. It is not in ourselves to be righteous. We cannot be righteous by way of our actions {See the book of Galatians}. We are righteous because we believed on Jesus Christ for personal salvation, redemption, holiness, life, etc. and eternal life. But, walking in righteousness in our words, desires, thoughts, and actions is by following the Holy Spirit and fellowshipping with God.)

ROMANS 8:4
“[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Be led by the Holy Spirit. Doing so will mortify (put to death) the deeds of the flesh.

ROMANS 8:13-15
“[13] For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die : but if ye through the Spirit
do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.
[15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear ; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

  •   (4.2.) Being Blessed as sons, for Free, without Working or Earning Anything. Having No Confidence in the Flesh.

We do not perform for God’s love, favor, gifts, blessings, or anything else. It is freely given to us because we simply believe on the Name of Jesus Christ for salvation.

GALATIANS 5:16-18
“[16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust
of the flesh.
[17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the
flesh : and these are contrary the one to the other ; so that ye cannot
do the things that ye would.
[18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”

ROMANS 8:32-34
“[32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,
how shall he not with him also freely give us all things ?
[33] Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect ? It is God that
justifieth.
[34] Who is he that condemneth ? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is
risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh
intercession for us.”

PHILIPPIANS 3:3
“[3] For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and
rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”

[Note: In the context of Philippians 3, Paul said that his past misplaced confidence in the flesh was in the duties of the law and in performance. It was not in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary until Paul became a Christian. So, for Paul to place his confidence in the flesh is to perform and do works in order to earn favor and love. This is not what God wants. God’s favor to us is unmerited favor which is freely given. It is grace.]

  •  (4.3.) How to Follow the Holy Spirit.

Seek to know your Abba Father God intimately and obey what you feel His Holy Spirit prompting or leading you to do. This is following the Holy Spirit. You will know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to you. Be still, rest in your heart, and expect to hear God’s voice.

Ask for God to bring you into intimate fellowship with Him. Ask for the leading of His Spirit and His voice. Ask to know Him better. Ask and you shall receive.

JOHN 16:13-14
“[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth : for he shall not speak of himself ; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak : and he will show you things to come.
[14] He shall glorify me : for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it
unto you.”

PSALM 46:10-11
“[10] Be still, and know that I am God : I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
[11] The Lord of hosts is with us ; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”

MATTHEW 7:7-11
“[7] Ask, and it shall be given you ; seek, and ye shall find ; knock, and
it shall be opened unto you :
[8] for every one that asketh receiveth ; and he that seeketh findeth ;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
[9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he
give him a stone ?
[10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent ?
[11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask him ?”
