Seven Points About Abba Father God That We Believers Need to Hold Onto

1. Abba Father God loves us with everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and He is the One who sent Jesus to the earth to pay for our sins (John 6:38-40).

2. God the Father suffered to see the torment Jesus went through for the sins of the human race and to see the suffering of mankind. (John 10:30).

3. Jesus is the Judge of the human race. (John 5:22-23).

4. We need to realize that God the Father is for us (He desires what is best for us), and deeply loves us, and cares for us very deeply, since we are His dear children. (John 16:17Psalm 103:13).

5. We also need to remember that Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit (together, the Trinity of God) dwell within the spiritual heart of everyone who has made Jesus Christ his (or her) Savior and Lord. (John 14:23).

6. If we love Jesus, we will obey Him. See John 14:23 and Romans 13:8-10.

7. If we don't love Jesus, we won't obey Him. See John 14:24.

There are some things we believers need to hold onto (and I know this very much).

(1.) One is that Abba Father God loves us with everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and He is the One who sent Jesus to the earth to pay for our sins (John 6:38-40). He is One God, as we Christians all know, (1 John 5:7 [KJV]) and He also suffered when Jesus died on the cross.

Jeremiah 31:3

"[3] The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

In John 6:38-40 Jesus said:

"[38.] For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

1 John 5:7 [KJV] says: "[7] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

Jesus, in John 10:30, said: "I and my Father are one."

(2.) God the Father suffered to see the torment Jesus went through for the sins of the human race and to see the suffering of mankind. Jesus said that God the Father and He are One (Jesus, in John 10:30, said: "I and my Father are one."). God is one being. He is not three beings. He is one being with three persons. This is something I cannot fully understand, but it is true. So, when Jesus Christ suffered on the cross, the Holy Spirit and God the Father suffered.

(3.) Jesus is the Judge of the human race. (John 5:22-23 and Philippians 2:9-11). When Jesus stands before the throne making intercession for us, He is standing in the court of Heaven where judgments are made, but Jesus also is the Judge of mankind. God (the Holy Trinity) is actually interceding to Himself for us. (See also Romans 8:34).

John 5:22-23

"[22.] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: [23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

"[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

"[34] Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."

Romans 8:31-32 (This shows that God cares about what is best for us.)

"[31.] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

(4.) So, we need to realize that God the Father is for us (He desires what is best for us), and deeply loves us (John 16:27), and cares for us very deeply (Psalm 103:13), since we are His dear children.

The kind of love that Abba Father God has for the Church is phileó love, according to John 16:27. According to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordancephileó means “... i.e. Have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling;...); specially, to kiss (as a mark of tenderness) -- kiss, love.” This is a very special kind of love which is very personal and tender. God kisses us with His great, Fatherly love and personal attachment

John 16:27 says: "[27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God."

This means that God the Father loves us in a very deep, personal, intimate, and special way if we love Jesus Christ (having made Jesus our personal Savior and Lord).

Also, God the Father has pity, compassion, and love for us, which Psalm 103:13 speaks of. The Hebrew word for pitieth (i.e. pities) is racham (Strong's #7355). It means to "have compassion on", "love", [have] "mercy", and "pity".

Psalm 103:13 says: "[13] Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him."

God the Father has compassion, pity, and love for His children because they have reverence, respect, and love toward Him and His ways. When they sin, they confess it, and repent, and desire to do what would glorify God (with guidance from the Holy Spirit). (See 1 John 1:7 and 1 John 1:9).

(5.) We also need to remember that Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit (together, the Trinity of God) dwell within the spiritual heart of everyone who has made Jesus Christ his (or her) Savior and Lord. (See the scripture below.)

"[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

John 14:23

"[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."

(6.) If we love Jesus, we will obey Him. See John 14:23 and Romans 13:8-10.

Romans 13:8-10

"[8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

(7.) If we don't love Jesus, we won't obey Him. See John 14:24.

In John 14:24, Jesus said: "[24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me."

In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus told His disciples (see the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:1-2) that what they focused on, and looked at, and thought about would fill them with either spiritual light or darkness. He taught that the things of this earth will decay and that where we lay up our treasure is where our heart is. In Matthew 6:24, He told us that we cannot serve two masters.

We cannot serve God and our selfish (or worldly) pleasures at the same time. If we are serving worldly pleasures, or being selfish, or self-righteous, we will eventually have to choose whether we will serve those things, or forsake them to serve only God.

Matthew 6:19-24

"[19.] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." [End quote]

If we choose the ways of this world (or our selfish ambitions), we would not love Jesus. (John 14:24: "[24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.") If we don't love Jesus, we would not be His. See Matthew 13:36-43 about the wheat and the tares.

"[36.] Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."
